Boyz II Men biopic: The story of the 90s R&B stars is now on the big screen
A1 Digital India News: He's on his way to a feature-length biopic of the R&B group Boyz II Men, which dominated the airwaves in the 1990s. The group partnered with Compelling Pictures and Primary Wave to create a musical action film starring Nathan Morris, Shawn Stockman and Wanya Morris. (Michael McCarey left the group in 2003 due to health problems.) Producers have begun talks with potential writers and directors for the film.
Boyz II Men formed in 1985 and had hits like "Motownphilly," "It's So Hard to Say Tomorrow," "End of the Road," "I'll Make Love to You" and "On Bended Knee" that became a standout musical sound in the '90s. They were also featured in Mariah Carey's song "One Sweet Day." The film's cast includes Denis O'Sullivan and Jeff Caligheri; Larry Mestel for Elementary Wave; Joe Mulvihill for The Mulvihill Group; and Jeremy M. Rosen for Roxwell Films. Group members Stockman, Nathan Morris and Wanya Morris serve as executive producers alongside Ori Allen, Dennis Casali and Steven Garcia.

Compelling upcoming feature film projects include The Collaboration starring Paul Bettany and Jeremy Pope. Musical biopics remain a top priority for Hollywood following recent hits such as Paramount's Bob Marley: One Love. A Complete Unknown, starring Timothée Chalamet as Bob Dylan, will be released in theaters next month, while biopics on the Beatles, Madonna, the Bee Gees, Queen Latifah and Sublime are also in the works.
