Dylan O'Brien recalls his "really bad" audition for 'Frozen 2'

The actor admitted to Seth Meyers that he "can't sing," but decided to audition for the animated film because "it doesn't always feel like being a real actor." The Saturday Night Live actor recently appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers, where the host asked him about his failed audition for the 2019 animated sequel, which will see Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel return as sisters Anna and Elsa, respectively. O'Brien said he didn't go into the audition with high expectations of getting the role "because I knew I probably wouldn't get it." The actor did not reveal which character he auditioned for.

A1 Digital India News: The actor admitted to Seth Meyers that he "can't sing," but decided to audition for the animated film because "it doesn't always feel like being a real actor." The Saturday Night Live actor recently appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers, where the host asked him about his failed audition for the 2019 animated sequel, which will see Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel return as sisters Anna and Elsa, respectively. O'Brien said he didn't go into the audition with high expectations of getting the role "because I knew I probably wouldn't get it." The actor did not reveal which character he auditioned for.

Made the Example "They're looking for versatile, versatile people who can act and sing," he told Seth Meyers about the musical film. "And honestly, you probably won't even see me." The Teen Wolf alumni admitted that he "can't sing," but decided to audition because "it doesn't always feel like being a real actor." But Meyers was surprised by how long it took the casting director to understand that singing wasn't one of O'Brien's top talents.

"This poor woman," the actor said. "I remember, actually — this is a specific detail — she asked me, in a stern tone, if I could get the choir because she had to see if I had a certain rank." O'Brien admitted he "floated a little bit in the first verse," but eventually "went up high" at the woman's request, and it was "really bad."

"I know. She knows. OK," he joked, but Meyers responded by asking, "Does she know that you know?"

"I think so, because when she told me, 'OK, OK'... she said two 'OK's, I'll never forget that," the actor recalled in The Maze Runner. "And then he said, 'Thanks for coming. I think we're probably going to need a stronger singer,' and I was like, 'Yeah, I know.' I said, 'Thanks for having me.'"

O'Brien said that overall, the audition was a positive experience. "Honestly, I remember it a lot," he joked, before telling Meyers, "And then I'm glad they decided to ask me that."

"We wanted you to pull it off. Don't you think, Dylan?" the host joked, to which the actor responded, "It really makes me feel comfortable. I'm serious!"
