Hollywood Music in Media Awards 2024: Hans Zimmer and Emilia Perez shine
A1 Digital India News: Hans Zimmer and Emilia Pérez took home three trophies each to lead the winners of the 2024 Hollywood Music in Media Awards, which honor the year’s most memorable film and TV music moments. Wild Robot was the only other winner, taking home two awards during Wednesday night’s ceremony at The Avalon Hollywood.
Zoe Saldana won the award for Song – On Screen Performance (Film) from “El Mal” by Emilia Pérez, who also won the Marquee Score – Feature Film Themed Music Award, as well as the Marquee Score – Feature Award for composer-lyricist Clement Ducol and Camille.
Zimmer, a double Oscar winner and 12-time nominee, won the award for three different projects: Score – sci-fi/fantasy Dune: Part Two, Score – documentary series Planet Earth III and Score – “Love Will Survive” for The Tattoo Artist from Auschwitz.
Other vocal winners include Diane Warren (“The Journey” from The Six Triple Eight); Elton John, Brandi Carlile, Bernie Taupin and Andrew Wyatt ("Never Too Late" from Elton John: Never Too Late); and Miley Cyrus, Lykke Li and Andrew Wyatt ("So Good" from The Last Showgirl).
The Song - Animated Movie award went to the five-member writing team of The Wild Robot's "Kiss the Sky." Photographer Kris Bowers won the Score - Animated Film award. Other winners included the Disney/Marvel juggernaut's Deadpool and Wolverine soundtrack albums and Lenny Wilson, who won the music video trophy for "Out of Oklahoma."
