"I've always loved country music," Ringo says of the album. "And when I asked T Bone to write a song for me, I didn't even think at the time that it would be a country song – but of course it was, and it was beautiful. I was doing an EP at the time and so I thought we were going to make a country EP – but when he came up with nine songs for me I knew we had to make an album! And I'm so glad we did." Thank you to T Bone and all the great musicians who helped make this record and send peace and love. It's very well made and I hope it's fun to listen to as well."

Burnett added: "For as long as I can remember (or could remember) I've loved Ringo Starr and his playing, his music and his aesthetic. His inventive approach to the instrument changed the way every drummer behind him played. And, while he has always sung great rockabilly, he is also a stirring ballad singer. Making this music with him is the fulfillment of a dream I've been living for 60 years. None of the things I've done in my entire life in music would have happened if it weren't for him and his band. Among other things, this album is a way I can say thank you for everything he has given me and us."
