Seaglass Theatre Company will present "Hooray for Hollywood" on Saturday, November 2 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, November 3 at 3:00 p.m. at Gallery X, 169 William St., New Bedford, Seaport Cultural District.

"Grab some popcorn! From Oscar winners to classic musicals, Seaglass Theatre Company performs the songs that make the movies unforgettable," the event's press release states. "Enjoy classic songs from the James Bond films, The Wizard of Oz and Dirty Dancing that will keep you humming long after the final curtain – you might just have the 'time of your life'!"

Seaglass Theatre Company's "Hooray for Hollywood" stars Kristin Lawler, Anthony Pilcher and artistic director Patrice Tiedemann. Music director Matthew Larson conducts the performance. Lawler is a mainstay in STC's 2023 and 2024 seasons, appearing as Hansel in "Hansel and Gretel" and as a soloist in the "Sondheim Tribute Revue" and "Stars and Stripes."

A Boston native, he has performed on the stages of Boston Symphony Hall and Carnegie Hall. He is a professor of music at both Stonehill College and Wellesley College. Pilcher recently participated in STC's Armed Forces Day "Stars and Stripes" concert as well as "Not Afraid to Dare: Music by Black Composers." He has performed with the Boston University Opera Institute, Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra, Odyssey Opera, Boston Modern Orchestra Project, and Bay View Music Festival.

Tiedemann's career highlights include "Hansel and Gretel" with the Rhode Island Philharmonic; as Santuzza in "Cavalleria Rusticana" with the Pioneer Valley Symphony; and Rosalinda in "Die Fledermaus" with Providence Opera and Cape Cod Opera. As STC Artistic Director, she develops creatively staged presentations of the classical vocal repertoire for the Southern New England region.

Larson is an accomplished singer and has performed more than 700 concerts in the United States and Europe. She has served as Assistant Conductor of the Boston Lyric Opera, Music Director of the Opera Program at the University of Connecticut, Music Director of Opera Providence, pianist of the Boston Symphony Orchestra Tanglewood Festival Chorus and more. Larson has served on the faculty of the Opera Institute at Boston University, as Director of Music at STC, and as Minister of Music at First Congregational Church of Milton.

“Hooray for Hollywood is a tribute to our favorite songs from cinematic history. We love bringing it together — it reminds us why we fell in love with the movies in the first place,” Tiedemann said in a press release.
