Sydney Sweeney shows off her mullet and muscles as she prepares to play boxer Christy Martin in sports biopic
A1 Digital India News: Mumbai, Oct 17 (SocialNews.XYZ) Hollywood star Sydney Sweeney is all set to play boxer Christy Martin in an upcoming biopic. In the film, he wears a 1990s-style uniform and also adds some muscles to play a former athlete.
According to a report in Variety, the actress shared a few pictures of her avatar as the boxer in an Instagram post. "Well, the cat is out of the bag thanks to some puppies in the jungle, so here's a little BTS from my movie I'm working on right now," Sweeney wrote on Instagram.
According to Variety, he plays Martin in an untitled sports biopic directed by David Michôd, which recently began production. Martin is a former professional boxer who competed from 1989-2012 and was a world champion in the super welterweight division in 2009.
In 2010, she also survived a murder attempt by her husband, James Martin. He stabbed Christie multiple times and shot her in her Florida home, but she survived.
In 2012, James was convicted of attempted second-degree murder and sentenced to 25 years in prison. “Over the past few months, I have been immersed in training to bring the story of an incredible woman to life — a true champion who fought inside and outside the ring,” Sweeney wrote.
“Her journey is a testament to resilience, strength, and hope, and I am honored to step into her shoes to share her powerful story with all of you.”
In 2020, Martin was elected to the International Boxing Hall of Fame, the organization’s first ballot to include women. The cast of the upcoming biopic includes Ben Foster as James Martin, Merritt Wever, Katie O’Brien, Ethan Embry, Jess Gabor, Chad L. Coleman and Tony Cavallero.
